CBC Giveaway Blog Hop

In July Creative Bead Chat held a huge giveaway to celebrate hitting 2,000 members.  All of the prizes were donated by members.  I was lucky to have won 2 of the drawings!  I would like to thank both Shelley Graham and Suzanne Berk for their generosity.

My first prize were these gorgeous earrings by Shelley Graham of Tori Sophia.  You can find her shop at:
www.torisophia.etsy.com

At Bead Fest in August I had the amazing thing happen.  Shelley saw her earrings that I just happened to be wearing that day.  Both of us were so amazed by the chance meeting.  It was great to be able to thank her in person for the earrings.  Thank you so much Shelley, I wear these earrings often.

The second prize I won were these gorgeous Picture Jasper faceted beads.  These were donated by Suzanne Berk of: irescuejewlerydesign on Etsy
Thank you Suzanne.  I just happened to have a large pendant that matched the beads so they have been put together into a necklace.  I didn't have time to take a picture of the necklace before leaving for vacation.

I would also like to that the ladies of CBC who worked so hard organizing this fun event!

Year of Jewelry Project - Week One

I have decided to push myself by participating in The Year of Jewelry Project.  The idea is to create one piece of jewelry every week during 2013.  A list of themes for the week is given, but that part is optional.

Here is my week 1 piece.  The theme was renewal.

When I look at this it reminds me of a stormy day at the beach.  The waves crashing break up the shells and make more sand, renewing the beach.  Okay, it's a bit of a stretch for the theme, but at least I got a piece done for the week.

Week theme for week 2 is Grace, so I'm thinking some swirling wire work would be perfect.

Jewelry Parties: A Fun Way to Get New Jewelry

In-Home Jewelry Party

Hosting a Handcrafted Jewelry by Rose jewelry party in your home is a great way to get friends and family together to shop for yourselves and for gifts in a relaxed, fun, pressure-free atmosphere. I am present during the entire event, available to answer any questions and to take custom orders.

You provide a location, guests, and refreshments if you wish and send the invitations that I will send to you by email.  I'll take care of the rest. It's a fun way to have a girls' night out and treat yourselves to some jewelry!

Why have an In-home party?  You will also get to see our newest items before they are listed on-line.  We offer a variety of small inexpensive items that are not available on-line.   We will bring these items to your home party.

What's in it for you?
You will earn 10% of your party sales in free jewelry! And if your total sales are more than $800 you will earn 20% of all sales above $800! You can use it toward your jewelry party purchase. This discount must be used the day of the party.

If any of your guests book a party during yours, you will receive a $10.00 Gift Certificate after their party ends.

I prefer for there to be at least 8 adult guests in order to book an in-home party.  The location needs to be within reasonable driving distance from Red Lion, PA.
If you are interested in hosting a party, email me at hcjewelrybyrose @ gmail.com (you will need to remove the spaces in my email address).  I would love to discuss how we can make this work for you.

    Bracelet Contest Winner

The winner of the bracelet from my Facebook page is Alan S.  Alan will have 48 hours to respond to the email I sent him.  He will be able to select any bracelet from my Etsy shop - http://www.etsy.com/shop/HCJewelrybyRose

I would like to thank all of you who participated in the contest.  Keep an eye on my Facebook for more contests.  I'm hoping to run one again soon.

    Fun Day Yesterday

I had a fun day with my oldest daughter Melissa yesterday!  Yard Sale season is here and we were ready to go bright and early.  Had breakfast out and then hit the sales.

After about 4 hours of yard sales we went for lunch and then back home to make some bracelets.  I think Melissa enjoys making jewelry as much as I do.  Let me know what you think of yesterdays work.

    First Post

Okay, so I'm very new at this and really don't have a clue what I'm doing.  So bear with me as I learn how to blog.

I am hoping to use this blog to share my experiences as I continue to learn more about jewelry designing.  So far I am only doing basic beading, but am working on some new techniques.  Wire working is my next step.  Love the look of wire wrapped pendants and jewelry.

Here are some pictures of some of my work.
